ITV has Sent a Warning Letter to Apple about its HD TV
I’ve often mentioned, when writing about the heavily rumoured Apple HD TV set, that they may find using the name iTV pretty difficult over here in the UK. It seems that ITV has already contacted Apple in an effort to protect its name.
The British broadcasting organisation, Independent Television, has sent a letter to Apple warning Apple that they would not be able to use the much rumoured moniker ‘iTV’ for its future television.
It has been highly expected the fruity telly to follow the usual Apple naming convention following the iPod, iPhone and iPad.
Having previously been assured that Apple would not use the iTV branding for any future television based projects, the UK broadcaster has re-established contact with the Mac maker as rumours run rife about an upcoming Apple iTV release.
It makes a change for Apple to be the recipient rather than the sending doesn’t it? 😉
The Apple television is alleged to come in 37 and 42-inch version with more rumours have suggesting that Apple’s Design Chief, Jonathan Ive, is currently putting the finishing touches to a 50-inch set.
