TAG Heuer Connected Golf

TAG Heuer Connected on and off The Green

Combining advanced watchmaking technology with a passion for golf, TAG Heuer not only announces its new Golf smartphone app but also a special edition Connected Modular 45 smartwatch.

Designed specifically with golfers in mind, the new TAG Heuer Connected Modular 45 “Golf Edition” is linked to the TAG Heuer Golf app. The app enables players to get the most out of their rounds of golf no matter what course they’re playing on.

TAG Heuer Connected Golf

Following the introduction of the second generation Connected in 2017, the Swiss watchmaker now combines its passion for sports and innovation with its interest in the world’s number one individual sport. The TAG Heuer Connected Modular 45 “Golf Edition” and the unique 3D course mapping available with the TAG Heuer Golf app are must-haves for every golfer.

TAG Heuer Project Manager Matthieu Soudan told us:

The TAG Heuer Connected Modular 45 ‘Golf Edition’ was designed specifically for golfers and anyone who is fascinated by the sport. Every aspect of the smartwatch and the app – from design to function – was created to enhance the player’s game. Off the course, the watch is a stylish accessory that features cutting-edge digital technology. It’s important to point out that it is, first and foremost, a connected watch, which means that the Golf app is only one of many other apps and functions that can be used with the timepiece.

TAG Heuer Connected Modular 45 “Golf Edition”

The new edition digital wristwatch combines a golf-inspired design and shock-resistant materials with a personalised advanced Golf app. The app features 3D renderings of more than 39,000 courses and provides comprehensive performance analysis.

TAG Heuer Connected Golf

The classy 45 mm timepiece has a black ceramic bezel ring, which is laser engraved with a scale of 1 to 18 – indicating the 18 holes in a round of golf. Filled in with white lacquer, the scale stands out from the predominantly black finish of the lightweight watch. The bold black ceramic lugs complement the sandblasted case and caseback, which are fashioned from black PVD titanium.

The smartwatch is worn on a white strap with green stitching – how on trend is that?

TAG Heuer Connected Golf

The 400 x 400 resolution 287 ppi touchscreen is covered with a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal. Equipped with multiple sensors, such as GPS, NFC, an accelerometer, a gyroscope and a mic, the smartwatch also boasts 4 GB of storage and a battery life of 25 hours.

Of course, the Golf edition can do anything that the TAG Heuer Connected watches can do. So, send messages, receive notifications, play music and download other apps to your heart’s content.

Also bundled with this latest edition is a black rubber strap for when you’re not out on the green. Additionally, three golf balls stamped with the TAG Heuer logo are also included in the special packaging.

TAG Connected Golf App

TAG Heuer Connected Golf

This is the first time that the Swiss watchmaker has developed an app for iOS and Android smartphones. The Golf app is available to download for free and can be used on all TAG Heuer Connected Modular 45 smartwatches.

The new app delivers critical insights to improve performance. Here you can record shot distances and scores, it also displays 39,000 golf courses around the world with accurate 3D mapping technology. TAG boasts that this app is more advanced than any similar technology currently available on the market.

Hyundai Digital Car Key

Hyundai Wants Car Keys To Become History.

Fed up of losing your car keys? Do you share a car with other family members? Do you just want one less thing to carry? Well, car keys could become a thing of the past after a manufacturer developed an app to control a vehicle by mobile phone.

Hyundai Digital Key App

Hyundai has created the ‘Digital Key.’ The new app uses Near Field Communication to enable your phone and car to talk to each other. Using this app you are able to unlock your car and more.

Once the smartphone unlocks the vehicle, you start the engine pressing the Start/Stop button after placing your phone on the wireless charging pad in the centre console.

The app can be used by up to four authorised people who each can save their preferred driving settings.

Once the phone and car mate-up, the position of the mirrors, seats and steering wheel will adjust automatically depending on the user’s requirements.

Hyundai Digital Key

Additionally, through Bluetooth Low Energy communication, the Hyundai Digital Key can also lock and unlock the vehicle, activate the alarm and start the engine remotely.

Control Who, What and When

The level of access to different vehicle functions can be tailored to each user, for a defined period. I am assuming this could prevent your kids sneaking out in the car once you’ve called it a night.

Hyundai actually developed this technology with car-sharing schemes in mind. However, the press release says that “it could also be used to enable a courier to open the boot to deliver a parcel.”I’m not too keen but I can kinda see what they are getting at.

The Digital Key can be used to make peer-to-peer vehicle rental much easier. The Digital Key can be transferred via the smartphone app. That means no need for driver and owner to meet – similar to how Drive Now works, I guess.

The Digital Key will also have features such as an alert which can be triggered if the person renting the Hyundai exceeds the speed limit or drives outside an agreed area.

Hyundai Digital Car Key

Ho Yoo, group leader of Hyundai Motor Group’s Electronics Development Group, told GadgetyNews:

The Digital Key will benefit a very wide range of future Hyundai customers, as well as enabling innovative new schemes for vehicle sharing. We are studying other ways to harness this type of connected-car technology to greatly enhance the driving and ownership experience.

Hyundai has said it aims to gradually implement the technology in its new production cars.

Fingerprint Unlock Your Car

It follows the manufacturer’s development of smart fingerprint technology that allows drivers to unlock doors and start the vehicle.

To unlock the car, the driver places a finger on the sensor located on the door handle. The encrypted fingerprint information will be identified and delivered to the fingerprint controller inside the vehicle.

The chance of incorrectly recognising another person’s fingerprint is one in 50,000. That ratio makes it five times more effective than conventional vehicle keys, including smart keys.

Would you trust this tech? Are we still keen on keys? Let us know below.

Samsung Q90 QLED 2019

Samsung QLED 2019 Range Now Ready for Pre-order

Samsung Electronics has announced its 2019 QLED TV range. Furthermore, it is available to pre-order now and will go on general sale from 27th March 2019. Also, the Recommended Retail Pricing has been announced.

Samsung QLED 2019

The new range boasts pixel perfect contrast and captivating colour in all conditions. Samsung has also brought its AI upscaling technology from its 8K TV to the 4K range. The upshot of is that you can now enjoy content in beautiful 4K even if it hasn’t been filmed in 4K.

Samsung 2019 QLED TV

The principal products unveiled in the 2019 QLED line-up include a suite of 8K and 4K TVs, including the 8K Q950R that ranges from 65-inch to 98-inch in size, as well as the 4K Q90R, Q85R, Q80R, Q70R and Q60R that range from 43-inch to 82-inch in size. In total, the expanded 2019 QLED line-up gives you more than 20 models to choose from.

Increasing the number of large-screen models in its TV line-up is part of a broader strategy at Samsung and reflects shifting consumer demands.

Jongsuk Chu, Executive Vice President of Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics told GadgetyNews:

We have witnessed our customers’ unfaltering confidence and affection towards Samsung QLED TVs within the past year. This year, our QLED 8K and 4K line-ups are addressing the growing demand in the market for ultra-large TVs, and we are proud to be able to deliver our most innovative and immersive line-up to date.

Deep Blacks and Wide Viewing Angles

Samsung’s 2019 QLED TVs feature ‘Ultra Viewing Angle’ technology. The tech restructures the TV’s panels, so the backlight passes through the panel more evenly onto the screen. So, no matter where you’re sitting you’re guaranteed an incredible viewing experience. Additionally, most 2019 QLED TVs are ‘Direct-Full-Array’ models that allow for a more sophisticated control of contrast, delivering much deeper blacks on screen.

Samsung 2019 QLED TV

Following its adoption in 8K models, Samsung’s new QLED 4K models are also now equipped with its proprietary ‘Quantum Processor’. The QLED 4K can then upscale any picture, no matter the source, to deliver the ultimate 4K picture. The AI upscaling features improved brightness, picture quality and sound optimised for each scene.

Additionally, all Samsung 2019 QLED TVs will feature HDR10+, a premium picture processing format. The HDR10+ standard makes bright scenes brighter and dark scenes darker by optimising the contrast for each scene so that users can enjoy a detail-rich picture. The QLED 8K TVs will also support HDMI 2.1 (8K 60P) transmission.

Bixby – AI-powered Intelligent Assistant

Samsung 2019 QLED TV

The new Bixby feature hands you easy access the content you want through voice commands on Samsung’s ‘Universal Guide.’ Furthermore, it also helps you search for content based on your previous viewing habits and preferences.

The 2019 Samsung Smart TVs offer a new iTunes Movies and TV Shows app and supports Apple AirPlay 2. Additionally, the latest TVs are now integrated with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant, so users can turn their TV on or off or control volume via simple voice commands.

Ambient Mode

Samsung 2019 QLED TV

Naturally, Ambient Mode enables you to display decorative content, useful information, your own photos and can even mimic the texture of the wall behind it.

Also, an even wider variety of themes are also now available, allowing you to further customise Ambient Mode to complement the décor of your home.

There is also the automatic light control sensor which adapts the screen brightness level for optimal viewing, night or day.

Price and availability

Pre-order is available now for the Q950, Q90, Q85 and Q80 and you’ll receive free delivery and installation to create the ultimate TV set up.

The Q60R starts at £1,099 for the 49-inch, the Q70R kicks off at £1,499 for 49-inches, The Q85R range starts at 55-inches for £2,299. The Q90R also starts at 55-inches and will cost £3,799 and, finally, the entry level of the top flight Q950R 8K range is a 65-inch smart telly that costs £4,999.

p30 front and back header

Huawei’s new flagship phones are to be revealed in Paris. What should we expect?

Soon, we’ll be heading to Paris to meet the Huawei P30 and Huawei P30 Pro. But, what does the rumour-mill tell us to expect? It is perhaps no surprise that the P30 series launch is one of the most exciting points on the smartphone calendar. So, what would this highly anticipated flagship be packing? Well, we already can discount folding of any kind as the brand’s Mate X has that covered.uawei P30 and P30 Pro

Huawei P30 and P30 Pro News

Huawei hasn’t been having an easy time recently in certain markets. However, we here at GadgetyNews have been impressed by the company’s hardware releases of the past few years, and the Mate 20 Pro remains our handset of choice. What could the P30 and P30 Pro have to entice us away from the latest curve-screened, square-lenses awesomeness of the Mate 20 Pro?

Pricing is due to see a hike as the asking price for flagship phones seems to be getting higher and higher. We would not be surprised to see the P30 Pro around £100 more than the Mate 20 Pro. If this bears out, then this would see the P30 Pro carrying a £999 price tag. Ouch!

Huawei P30 Camera

We don’t think that it takes a genius to assume that Huawei is going to focus on photography.

We have had our invitation, and the Huawei P30 will officially be unveiled on Tuesday, March 26, at a special event in Paris. The company launched its first 2018 flagships, the P20 and P20 Pro, at a dedicated launch event in Paris in March, so this is a nice touch.

Teasers are by nature vague, and the P30 invitation teaser is perhaps more apparent than most.

The phrase “Rules were made to be rewritten” appears alongside photos of the Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triomphe and Notre Dame cathedral, all photographed and then zoomed in quite dramatically. Not long enough as to be able to examine the detail without pausing, but impressive enough. So, zoom is going to be at least an element of the P30, then.

Furthermore, Huawei has confirmed that the P30 Pro smartphone will include a periscope-style camera lens that promises to deliver ‘super zoom’ capabilities.

This connects neatly with the rumours of the company equipping the flagship with a 10x optical zoom.

There have been some leaked shots from this impressive snapper, but some have been accused of being the results of DSLRs.

Huawei P30 Design

There are always the renders which are generally not far off the mark. However, we have already seen cases advertised that give a lot of the game away.

Huawei P30

For instance, Spigen seems quite confident that the P30 will have three camera lenses around the back, while the Pro will sport four.

Huawei P30 Pro

The most apparent feature is in the camera array on both devices. While the P30 has three lenses on display, like last year’s P20 Pro, the P30 Pro seems to pack a four-camera array.

Huawei P30 Pro
From WinFuture

That said, more recent images show the P30 Pro with a slightly different third lens at the bottom of the array. Could this be the super zoom?

The P30 also appears set to ditch the physical fingerprint reader, presumably in favour of the in-screen version debuted on the Mate 20 Pro.

Huawei P30 Pro
From WinFuture

Looking at the display, it seems like the hole-punch cutout styling has been ditched in favour of a small and round dewdrop-style notch.

As far as the actual screen tech is concerned, both models appear to rock excellent screen-to-body ratios with only the merest hint of a chin. We are assuming that the P30 might use LCD technology while the Pro will likely pack an AMOLED panel.

Huawei P30 Performance

On the inside, we expect the P30 to arrive with the 7nm Kirin 980 processor as used in the, frankly ace, Mate 20 Pro.

However, there have been rumours stating that the P30 series will be loaded with the newer Kirin 985 chipset as it will provide improved performance and an integrated 5G modem. Keep in mind that the 985 is still yet to be officially announced.

Of course, for a new phone, it is always cool to have the latest System on Chip (SoC), especially if you are going to be attaching a premium price tag to the new blower. Do not forget though, the Kirin 980 is an excellent SoC, packs in a dual NPU (neural processing unit) for AI tasks and operates on an impressively efficient 7nm manufacturing process.

In fact, all it needs really for the latest 5G chops is an updated modem. As if by coincidence, something like the company’s own Balong 5000 modem would be just the ticket.

Huawei P30 Additional features

The Huawei Mate 20 Pro was the first of the company’s phones to showcase an in-display fingerprint sensor, and logic would suggest that this technology will persist with the P30 series, at least on the Pro model.

Huawei P30 Pro

The dewdrop notch, while leaving more screen real estate for display stuff, does tend to rule out the clever depth-sensing face unlock technology utilised on the Mate 20 Pro. Unless, of course, they have managed to squeeze all that into the one tiny space.

While Huawei’s most recent devices already offer stereo sound output from both their speaker grilles and earpieces when playing media, the company might be planning on upping the audio credentials with its next flagship handsets.

We haven’t got long to wait, but what are your thoughts about the Huawei P30 and P30 Pro?

Dell Latitude 7390 review

The Dell Latitude 7390 2-in-1 is a flexible business partner that can let its hair down.

There are many times when I need a potent portable puter, so the chance to live with the Dell Latitude 7390 2-in-1 was too good an opportunity to pass up. This convertible touchscreen tour-de-force boasts an 8th-gen Intel Core i7 CPU, all-day stamina, a fingerprint reader and face-recognition camera for security. But, did I like it?

There are a lot of things to like about having a 2-in-1 laptop and, when given the option, I tend to be attracted to these over the regular clamshell variety. However, I can possibly count the number of times I flip that keyboard over to use the said device as a tablet. So, it is perhaps worth noting that the 7390 is also available in regular lappy flavour.

Dell 7390 Design

The Dell 7390 comes wearing a black, soft-touch slim-fit work suit. It is obviously more ready for work than play which isn’t necessarily a bad thing.

Dell Latitude 7390 review

It does feel solid, and the keyboard certainly feels like it can take some hammer. Additionally, the screen stands up to some severe prodding too.

The Dell measures 0.75- x 12- x 8.3-inches (HWD) and so makes for a pretty portable PC. Weighing in at a respectable 3.2 pounds it also makes for a good bag companion.

Dell Latitude 7390 review

Flipping the lid up and the full HD display is surrounded by slim bezels. Of course, the top bezel is a tad thicker to make room for the webcam. The infrared webcam is Windows Hello face-recognition friendly allowing you to log in with your grinning mug. For the more self-conscious password dodgers, there is a fingerprint reader.

Dell Latitude 7390 review

The Latitude 7390 2-in-1 has connectivity options aplenty with a pair of Thunderbolt 3/USB-C ports on the left that can also be used as DisplayPorts. Furthermore, either of those ports can be used with the supplied AC adapter for power. Additionally, there’s also an HDMI port and a SmartCard slot.

Dell Latitude 7390 review

On the right-hand side, you’ll find an audio jack, a microSD card slot, and a micro SIM tray for optional mobile broadband. The power button and volume rocker are also on the right. Rounding things off are a brace of Type-A USB 3.1 Gen 1 ports, one on each side. Wireless support includes 802.11ac, Bluetooth, and near-field communication (NFC).

Rounding off the design is the nicely-sized backlit keyboard.

All-in-all, a good looking laptop that keeps it stealthy.

Performance

Dell Latitude 7390 review

The Latitude 7390 2-in-1 is powered by an Intel Core i7-8650U processor with a 1.9GHz quad-core CPU boasting Intel’s vPro manageability features and UHD 620 integrated graphics. The processor is buddied with 16GB of RAM and a 512GB NVMe solid-state drive (SSD).

Power and handling

With all of that pushing things along in the engine room, most tasks are dealt with quick-smart. Large Excel workbooks are despatched, documents are dispensed and even photos edited without the 7390 breaking a sweat.

Dell Latitude 7390 review

Naturally, integrated graphics aren’t going to handle the latest gaming titles on insane settings, but it will play your Netflix boxsets nice and smoothly. A real bonus when those meetings start to circle around the same discussions.

The Latitude accompanied me to work and also to some press bashes and when using it rested on my knees it all felt solid. The screen doesn’t flex that much when being prodded and poked and the chassis didn’t feel like it was going to buckle when typing away on it.

Work it

This brings me nicely on to the backlit keyboard. The keys have a pretty fast and responsive feel. Dell has even managed to make way for real Home, End, Page Up, and Page Down keys. At first, the keys did feel slightly closer together, but it wasn’t long before I was happily touch-typing my way through presentations.

Dell Latitude 7390 review

Also worthy of note is the relatively small touchpad. Again, nicely responsive it picks up gestures well and clicks when you mean it rather than by accident. The two buttons beneath it have a grippy texture and do their job wonderfully.

Sound and vision

The speakers on the Latitude 7390 3-in-1 are found underneath the keyboard. They are reasonably loud but not what I’d call audiophile quality. However, they will add music and sound effects to brighten up any PowerPoint presentation or watching a film in the Travel Lodge.

Dell Latitude 7390 review

The convertible’s 13.3-inch screen is nice and bright with deep colours and wide viewing angles. Contrast is remarkably decent and helps to make those HD videos look pin sharp.

Battery life

Stamina isn’t bad either racking up around 14 hours of video playback. That result equates to easily getting you through a day’s work with an episode or two of your favourite series on the commute. Alternatively, a flight and a meeting for you jet-setters.

This is a very capable machine.

Dell Latitude 7390 2-in-1 review conclusion

The Latitude 7390 convertible is an excellent workhorse. Its soft textured rubberised outer will brush off the rigours of the road, while the 8th Gen i7 will power it through the day. Keeping the lights on is excellent battery stamina and the keyboard, while a little snug, is great to use. Finally, the screen is bright and colours deep with contrast that will do justice to movies.

Add to that it can be used as a tablet or display screen in ‘tent mode’, and you have an extremely useful executive tool.

I would definitely be happy to have one on the road with me.

Price and availability

The Dell Latitude 7390 2-in-1 is available now with prices starting at £1,232. The model we had to review comes in at £1,732.

Huawei unveiled its Mate X folding fone with the bragging rights of being the world’s fastest. The all-new multi-form factor phone features an innovative, flexible OLED foldable FullView display. The bendy skills are due to the brand’s unique falcon wing mechanical hinge, whereas as the speed boast is down to the 5G modem chipset Balong 5000.

The 6.6-inch OLED dual display panel unfolds to become an 8-inch tablet that’s only 5.4mm thick. Images look to be clear and detailed. Moreover, we are told that the panel itself is safe, durable and features outstanding cooling performance.

Huawei Mate X

The screen real estate is handy for everything from editing a document to entertainment. For instance, you are able to drag images from your photo gallery to emails in split-screen mode.

Need for speed

Keeping the lights on

With a large screen and powerful internals, the Mate X will need a large battery. Thankfully the new convertible features a new, purpose-designed 4,500mAh battery. Naturally, the Mate X combines the cell with AI smart power-saving technology. 55W Huawei SuperCharge tops the battery up quickly to minimise downtime for those who prefer a fast-paced lifestyle. In just 30 minutes, SuperCharge is able to charge the battery back to 85%.

Huawei Mate X price

This is where you have to sit down. All this 1st generation folding tech doesn’t come cheap. Expect to be paying 2,300 Euros to join the early adopters.

Xiaomi Launches Mi 9, Mi Mix 3 5G and Mi LED Smart Bulbs in Barcelona

The Xiaomi Mi 9 went official first in China, and then its European launch followed at MWC 2019 in Barcelona. Also at the unveiling, the company’s Mi Mix 3 5G was unleashed taking advantage of the upcoming superfast network.

Considering the Mi 9’s impressive spec sheet which includes the Snapdragon 855, triple cameras, a gorgeous design, faster wireless charging, and at least 6GB of RAM, the €449 asking price seems hard to believe. That even undercuts the OnePlus 6T by €50.

Xiaomi Mi 9

Mi 9 is Xiaomi’s first flagship with an AI triple camera. The primary snapper utilises the latest 48-megapixel Sony IMX586 1/2-inch sensor meaning you can choose to shoot high-resolution 48-megapixel images or when in low-light conditions, take clearer and brighter photos as Mi 9 will combine four pixels to one resulting in very sensitive 1.6?m large pixels.

The AI triple camera combination consisting of the main camera, a 16-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera, and a 12-megapixel telephoto camera helped the Mi 9 score 107 on the authoritative DxOMark website. That score landed it second place in the overall smartphone rankings. Additionally, a video score of 99 puts it at number one on DxOMark for video capture.

Xiaomi Mi 9

Design-wise the Mi 9 has a curved back cover design, allowing it to fit comfortably in hand. An advanced back cover colour process gives Mi 9 a stylish holographic rainbow spectrum which is a nice touch.

The all-curved design is inspired by the works of famed architect Antoni Gaudi and has been certified by The Gaudi Academia of Knowledge.

Around the front of the new phone is a 6.39-inch 19.5:9 Samsung AMOLED Dot Drop display. Under this display is a new and improved in-screen fingerprint sensor that unlocks the phone up to 25% faster than the previous generation.

Charging forwards

The Mi 9 also boasts a massive 3300mAh battery, featuring both wired and wireless fast charging. Furthermore, the charging tech has received accreditation from renowned German institution TUV Rheinland.

The 27W wired charging supports Qualcomm’s QC4+ standard, and enables Mi 9 to safely charge to 70% in just 30 minutes, and fully charge in 60 mins. When used with the new 20W version of Mi Wireless Charging Pad, Mi 9 can fully charge in just 90 min, as fast as some wired solutions.

Xiaomi Mi 9 price

Mi 9 will be available in Europe from 28 February, retailing from €449 for the 6GB+64GB version, and from €499 for the 6GB+128GB. It is available in Piano Black, Ocean Blue, and Lavender Violet.

Mi Mix 3 5G

Alongside that announcement, Xiaomi also used its MWC event to launch its first 5G-capable smartphone. The new Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 went official back in October of last year, but the company is reviving that design to add on 5G.

New chips

The new Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 5G ships with an updated Snapdragon 855 chipset and Qualcomm’s X50 5G modem alongside all of the same specs and design of the original phone. Xiaomi will be launching the Mi Mix 3 5G this May for €599 in blue and black colour variants. Currently, it’s unclear if this device will be headed to other markets anytime soon.

Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 5g

Integrating the Qualcomm Snapdragon X50 5G modem, Mi MIX 3 5G can connect to a sub-6GHz signal that has gigabit-class download speed, which is tens of times faster than a 4G network. The phone is also one of the earliest adopters of the powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 SoC. The new System on Chip sustains a long, stable peak performance thanks to a newly designed hybrid cooling system.

The Qualcomm Kryo 485 CPU incorporates eight cores for a great balance between performance and power efficiency. Single core performance is up to 45% faster, a significant leap from the previous generation. The Qualcomm Adreno 640 GPU sees increased performance by 20% compared to the previous generation, and the fourth-generation Qualcomm AI Engine provides up to three times faster AI performance.

Mi MIx 3 5G

Keeping cool

To prevent things getting hot when gaming, Xiaomi has developed a highly-advanced hybrid cooling system for Mi MIX 3 5G. The Rogers HeatSORB thermal material implements a phase change effect, capturing heat while also delaying temperature increases. Then, a passive heat pipe composed of six layers of graphite disperses heat at three times faster than a typical dual graphite sheet.

Mi MIX 3 5G inherits the same 12MP AI dual camera from Mi MIX 3. It also benefits from the original’s features including 960 fps slow-motion video capabilities. For selfies, Mi MIX 3 5G offers a 24MP + 2MP dual camera setup using Sony’s IMX576 sensor. The camera is managed by the Qualcomm Spectra 380 ISP for speedy and power efficient camera experience.

Mi MIX 3 5G uses Xiaomi’s patented magnetic slider, offering a tremendous tactile experience and a wide array of custom options. Users can set the slide to perform functions such as answering calls or starting up the camera app. Thanks to the slider design, the bezels are extremely thin, achieving an extreme screen-to-body ratio. The screen is a 6.39-inch 2340 x 1080 FHD+ Samsung AMOLED display with an aspect ratio of 19.5:9.

Mi MIX 3 5G will be available in May, with a starting price of €599, in Onyx Black and Sapphire Blue.

Mi LED Smart Bulb

Xiaomi also announced Mi LED Smart Bulb during its product launch. Featuring 16 million stunning colours and adjustable colour temperature and brightness, it’s controlled remotely with Mi Home app. Furthermore, the bulb is compatible with Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa. Apple Home Kit support arrives in Q2 2019.

Mi LED Smart Bulb is currently available in Europe for €19.99.

AKASO EK7000 Pro 4K Action Sports Cam yours for less than £80

AKASO has just announced the availability of their new EK7000 Pro 4K action camera. It will cover a variety of outdoorsy shinannigans as well as being equally home in the wet stuff. It will even double-up as a dashcam – all for under eighty quid.

The AKASO EK7000 Pro 4K action camera is the ideal companion for sporty and adventurous types.

As its name suggests, the EK7000 Pro 4K delivers 4K/25fps, 2.7K/30fps and 1080P/60fps videos and 16-megapixel photos.

That all means you should end up with high quality, detailed shots. Especially as the camera boasts built-in electronic image stabilisation up to 1080P/60fps and 1080P/30fps. The adjustable viewing angle also allows you to set the angle of the action camera as required with the choice of super wide, wide, medium and narrow.

Go anywhere

Additionally, you also get a waterproof case that’s good down to 40 metres/131 feet. By turning on Diving Mode, the camera can also compensate for the lack of red light in underwater scenes. The setting ensures that images and clips recorded are just as high quality as those on the ground.

In addition to water sports and on-land activities, the action camera can also be used as a dash cam while driving. With multi-functions including ‘Loop Recording’ and ‘Upside Down’, it can record any knocks or accidents providing crucial evidence if required for insurance claims.

The ultra 2-inch touch screen with IPS display makes it easy to change settings, switch shooting modes, and playback footage.

Share the action

If all that wasn’t enough, the bundled 2.4GHz wireless remote control enables you to operate the camera and not have to miss out on joining in the activities. The built-in Wi-Fi then makes it simple to share clips and images on the go as they happen.

AKASO EK7000

The company’s iSmart DV app connects to the camera and makes it easy to instantly post to social media channels including Instagram, Facebook and YouTube.

Naturally, you also get a raft of mounting accessories including bicycle stands, seven mounts, and a helmet mount and clip.

The action camera also comes with a USB dual charger and two batteries which adds up to a total of three hours recording time.

Price and availability

The AKASO EK7000 Pro 4K action camera is available now for £76.99 from Amazon UK.

As this minimises room noise, the result is a clean, up-front sound with excellent isolation. Also, Ember’s sleek form factor and compact side-address design make it perfect for placement in tight spaces.

Custom-designed phantom power circuitry and a precise cardioid polar pattern ensure remarkably consistent frequency response with minimal noise. Clean, high-output gain provides impressive headroom for even the most dynamic speech and instruments.
