LG 4X HD Quad-core Ice Cream Sandwich Mobile Phone

LG Optimus 4X HDLG has announced their mighty Optimus 4X HD – a quad-core toting Ice Cream Sandwich powerhouse.

The 4X is the replacement of last year’s LG Optimus 2X – which held the crown as the first dual-core Android phone.

Does this mean that we can expect a 6X, or even 8X as they’re doubling, next year packing the respective cores?

The 4X is not only equipped with many cores, it is also sporting a huge 4.7-inch screen. Their Vu is only slightly larger at 5-inches!

Under the hood lies a 1.5GHz Nvidia Tegra 3 quad-core processor which pushes the latest version of Android’s operating system.

The Tegra 3 chip’s four cores kick in to help with fast-moving games, high-definition video, or for just multitasking.

If there’s nothing exciting happening there is actually a fifth core which handles such those day-to-day phone tasks such as calls, emails and playing music.

There’s 1GB of RAM on board and 16GB of storage for your music, movies, snaps and apps.

The 4X has an 8-megapixel snapper around the back with a 1.3-megapixel up front for vid calling.

LG also announced the Optimus 3D Max this week, the sequel to the three-dimensional Optimus 3D. Surely you remember the Optimus 3D?

Errr… yeah. Not exactly as prevelant as other phones was it?

The 4X HD is expected to land here in Spring but no prices are available as yet.

You know the score – quad-core! Would you like that power in your pocket? Let me know 🙂
