JJRC H47 Elfie Plus selfie drone

There are many capable drones out there, but they all demand quite an investment in both time and money. However, the H47 Elfie+ from JJR/C looks quite compelling.

JJR/C recently announced the upgraded model of their Elfie selfie drone.

This features a more elegant design and a novel one-hand ‘Gravity Sensor’ controller.

I recently received one of these drones to take a closer look at.

In the video I unpack the drone for the first time and check out what it comes bundled with.

OK, so indoor flight is a bit suspect right now. However, the Elfie+ is equipped with a barometric air-pressure sensor.

This means that the H47 drone is capable of autonomously maintaining flight altitude at the desired level.

The alt-hold feature should prove very useful when you are recording selfie videos.

Camera

The H47 is loaded with a 720P camera in the nose which captures both video and stills direct to your smart device.

The camera also features Wi-Fi FPV. This means that you can display the camera’s real-time image feed on your smartphone or tablet.

According to the specs the 500mAh Li-Po battery should allow about 7 minutes of fly time.

The battery is wire-free and can be swapped in just seconds.

JJR/C Elfie+ round up

For £35 ($57 CDN) this certainly is a good-looking drone. The carry case is neat and you get everything expect the 2xAAA batteries for the controller. But, as you can use your smartphone via the app, this doesn’t appear to be essential.
