Huawei Mate 20 X 5G UK Price and details

Huawei Mate 20 X 5G Now Available in UK

Looking to join the 5G next-gen network? Well, Huawei’s Mate 20 X 5G is now on sale in the UK.

The Huawei Mate 20 X 5G is a potent handset, featuring a massive 7.2-inch display, decent battery stamina and, of course, excellent cameras.

Additionally, the Mate 20 X builds on the already great Huawei Mate 20 by slipping in a Balong 5000 5G modem.

After a bit of a delay due to certain ‘trust issues’ you can now grab the new handset at Carphone Warehouse, Three and Sky Mobile – both SIM-free and on contract. Granted, the latter two are yet to launch their 5G networks, but you can be ready for when the next generation network arrives later this year.

Plenty of Phone for the Money

Mate 20 X 5G

At £999 SIM-free it’s a lot of dosh, but the Mate 20 X 5G is also a lot of phone. As well as that large 7.2-inch Full HD display, you get the Kirin 980 chipset, 8GB of RAM, 256GB of storage, 4,200mAh battery, three rear cameras (40MP + 20MP + 8MP) and a 24MP front-facing selfie snapper.

Also, you can use the Huawei M-Pen and scribble directly from the lock screen on the Memo app. The M-Pen’s 4096 high level pressure sensitivity provides a feeling of natural penmanship.

It’s a big handset, with plenty of power, but it won’t be for everyone, but it’s not the only 5G handset available in the UK, so the good news is you do have some choice in these early days of the next-generation network.

The current position of Huawei is that the US has agreed to grant licenses to allow US companies to continue to work with Huawei. A lot of the attention has been on Google, with Huawei maintaining that it will continue to work with and support the Android operating system.
