Loewe at Sound and Vision – The Bristol Show 2017

The Bristol Show will soon be upon us. I have just had word that Loewe will be there, showcasing its best-ever home entertainment system at Sound & Vision.

Loewe will be presenting its latest home entertainment kit at the show. At the system’s heart is the bild 7 – the first European OLED TV.

The bild 7 incorporates the most advanced OLED panel currently in existence and combines it with Loewe’s proprietary picture processing to deliver an outstanding picture quality. Loewe calls this ‘VantaVision’, a term derived from VantaBlack, the darkest man-made substance ever created.

The TV comes in two screen sizes – 55-inch and 65-inch – and supports 4K Ultra HD and HDR (High Dynamic Range), with Dolby Vision to follow shortly after launch. It is also fully compliant with the Ultra HD Premium standard (currently awaiting certification).

Just how impressive is it? Well, the Financial Times described it as “magnificent” owing to its beautiful design, stunning picture and sound, and unique integrated networking facilities.

Connected wirelessly to the TV are Loewe’s new klang 5 floorstanding speakers and subwoofer.

All audio processing and amplification is integrated within the TV and speakers, creating an immensely elegant, fully integrated high-performance AV solution – form and function at its finest.

Each speaker incorporates five drive units in a D’Appolito arrangement. That’s midwoofer-tweeter-midwoofer, or MTM, to most of us.

There is a one-inch tweeter that’s flanked vertically by two 3-inch midrange drivers and two 3-inch woofers.

The tweeter and midrange units are each driven by a separate amplifier, while a fourth amp module handles the two woofers. This all works together to deliver a combined power output of 135W RMS (270W max) per speaker.
