Microsoft Edition Galaxy S8 and S8+ versions
Microsoft has announced that it will be offering their own versions of the Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus in its retails stores. These will be cunningly named the Samsung Galaxy S8 Microsoft Edition and S8 Plus Microsoft Edition.
Is this a potent return of Microsoft Mobile with Windows 10 pre-loaded? Not exactly. These new Microsoft Edition Galaxy phones will still be packing Android.
Following on from the announcement of Samsung’s latest flagship phones, Microsoft has announced their own version.
Microsoft Edition Galaxy S8
The Microsoft-tweaked phones are available for preorders today at Microsoft’s US retail stores, and will include Microsoft’s range of apps and services.
The customised S8 will come loaded with Microsoft’s apps and services. So, Office, OneDrive, Outlook and Cortana will all be present.
Personally, I am surprised that Microsoft’s virtual assistant would be included as the S8 was the big debut of Bixby.
All the magic happens once the special edition Galaxy S8s hit Wi-Fi. Then, all of the custom software is downloaded and installed.
The regular versions of the Galaxy S8 already includes Office apps, the alternate edition tacks on Cortana, Excel, Outlook, OneDrive, One Note, Bing, Groove, Skype, MSN News and more.
Microsoft Edition Galaxy S8 and S8+ availability
Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ Microsoft Edition are available to pre-order now and for purchase beginning April 21 at U.S. Microsoft Store locations.
It might not offer much extra, but the queues could be shorter 😉
