Nokia 1 sub-£80 smartphone now available in UK

Looking for a first smartphone for your kids, or one for the olds? Howsabout an inexpensive mobile to take with you to a festival? The Nokia 1 has just officially gone on sale in the UK.

The Nokia 1 gives you all the smartphone essentials in a refreshingly familiar, interchangeable design.

Furthermore, it does all this for less than £80.

Under the hood is a quad-core processor and it’s loaded with front and rear cameras as well as 4G connectivity.

It runs Android Oreo (Go edition) which is tailored for more affordable devices. Android Oreo (Go edition) uses its own lightweight versions of popular Google apps. These also less power and data, making them idea for PAYG phone or low-data SIM deals.

Keeping the lights on is a removable 2150 mAh battery. That, and the power-efficient IPS display, works with the optimised apps so you can make the most out of each charge.

Make it your own

One thing that I miss from owning a Nokia phone is the Xpress-on covers. Well, great news. As well as the Nokia 1 being available in Warm Red and Dark Blue, it also supports the pop-on covers. This opens up your choices to include Azure, Grey, Pink and Yellow.
