MeacoFan: Quietly cool in the bedroom
The UK’s leading air purifier specialist Meaco has launched their cunningly-named MeacoFan. This DC fan nestles into their multi award winning Platinum Range of low energy air treatment products.
With the UK weather forecast predicting another warm month, perhaps longer, the nights are only going to get stickier. If, like me, you rely on a large fan to move the night air around then this will be of definite interest.
Currently, I have to compromise a quiet night with a noisier one, due to the fan. However, the new MeacoFan promises low noise, as well as high efficiency.
MeacoFan
The quieter operation is one of the things that makes the MeacoFan different from other, more basic fans on the market. This near-silent running is thanks to its DC motor. The other advantages that come with a DC motor are lower running costs thanks to the motor’s lower energy consumption and a longer running life.
The MeacoFan is the perfect choice for use in a bedroom, due to the low noise levels. Furthermore, there’s a pre-off, pre-on button that allows you to set a timer. This means that it will turn off automatically so you don’t wake up feeling too cold in the middle of the night. Additionally, the remote control means you can turn the lights off on the fan if you prefer complete darkness, or alternatively use it as a night light, perhaps in a children’s bedroom.
The remote docks neatly on the centre of the fan using a magnet.
Looks cool
I tend to go for the more retro looking desk fans as the modern ones look a tad… office-y. Not so, the MeacoFan. This is a stylish air circulator. It also boasts twelve fan speeds capable of cooling the largest of rooms.
The multi-directional oscillation ensures that cool air circulates throughout the whole room by bouncing the air off walls and ceilings, too.
An ECO mode automatically changes the fan speed as the room temperature changes, providing a simple, one touch control.
Price and availability
The MeacoFan is available from the Meaco web site and Amazon priced at £99.99.
It will be available from the John Lewis web site at the end of June.
