Honor 10 UK launch #BeautyinAI
Honor has just launched their spanking new flagship smartphone, the Honor 10 in London. We were there so stay tuned for our first impressions.
At the event, Honor pushed the concept of “Beauty in AI” as well as revealing two major ground-breaking and industry-leading smartphone technologies.
More importantly, USB-C and a headphone port are both present and correct.
Honor 10 – Beauty in AI
The new phone sports a 5.84-inch FullView full HD screen with a 19:9, bezel-less display. That all adds up to an 86% screen-to-body ratio. Furthermore, it has the industry-first front-placing ultrasonic fingerprint sensor under the glass. Pretty nifty, huh?
The Honor 10 is also pretty eye-catching. This is in no small part due to its 15 layers of 3D glass on the back that reflects a colourful radiance from every angle.
Under the hood is an independently built-in NPU processor mated with 4GB RAM and 64GB/128GB ROM of storage. It is also packing Honor Super Charge 5V/4.5A and a huge 3,400 mAh battery. This means that it can recharge 50% of power within 25 minutes.
Naturally, the Honor 10 has the latest EMUI 8.1, an overall upgrade in software function and capability. It features the Easy Talk function, which reduces background noise in a windy environment when you’re talking handsfree and increases the volume of whispers for quiet conversations.
AI 2.0 Camera
The Honor 10 24MP+16MP dual AI camera recognises 500+ scenarios in 22 categories in real time. It also has the skills to pinpoint the outlines of various surrounding objects, such as sky, plants, people or even a waterfall, and identify their locations instantly. Bonkers!
It is able to do this thanks to supporting the industry-first Semantic Image Segmentation technology. This allows the Honor 10 to identify multiple objects in one single image. These industry-first features apply scene-specific parameters to each photo in real time when taking a picture. We were promised that this would make every photo you take a professional shot with just one click
24MP front camera
The front-firing snapper (hidden in the notch) is a 24MP “intelligent selfie companion”.
It supports 3D face recognition, optimises facial details and detects over a hundred facial points to pixel-level accuracy. Additionally, it also supports studio lighting effects with a range of lighting conditions. The advanced and precise facial recognition ensures an accurate bokeh, and captures subtle features of everyone’s face, even in a ‘groufie’ shot ~shudder~ hate the word.
