Yamaha MusicCast gains Alexa voice control
Back in March last year Yamaha promised Alexa integration to their MusicCast systems. Well, now they have it.
You can now control your Yamaha wireless system by voice thanks to the added Alexa skill.
Say hello to hands-free control of your Yamaha devices!
Yamaha MusicCast and Alexa
Now, over 40 MusicCast products offer full compatibility with Amazon’s Alexa-based smart home devices.
The MusicCast Smart Home skill supports a preset selection of voice commands that can be used to control an AV receiver, soundbar, Hi-Fi component or wireless speaker. Those commands cover power on/off, volume control, play/pause/skip/previous, mute/unmute and input selection.
The new skill also offers enhanced control of specific functions, such as room linking, multiple room control and playback of Favourites/Playlists.
This means that you are able to ask the Amazon AI “Alexa, ask MusicCast to link the Kitchen with the Living Room,” for example.
If your MusicCast system uses an Echo or Dot as a source, you can request a specific artist, album or song.
The new integration will also allow owners to redistribute a Bluetooth stream to multiple MusicCast products for simultaneous playback.
