New Casio EDIFICE connected watch models announced

Casio has announced two new EDIFICE models in partnership with Scuderia Toro Rosso Formula 1 team.

Following their recent awesome announcement at Baselworld Casio unveiled some special editions.

Casio and Scuderia Toro Rosso have released the 2017 edition of the EDIFICE metal sport watches. Say hello to the new EDIFICE Scuderia Toro Rosso Limited Edition EQB-501TRC-1A and EFR-556TR-1A.

The new models are inspired by Casio’s partnership with the Scuderia Toro Rosso Formula team. Both timepieces embody the EDIFICE brand concept of “Speed and Intelligence”.

EDIFICE EQB-501TRC

The EQB-501TRC accents black with splashes with the blue and red, of the Scuderia Toro Rosso logo colours.

The bezel has an aged finish that gives it a well-worn look.

The predominantly black theme leaves a bold impression. The Scuderia Toro Rosso logo is emblazoned on the back case and free loop. The packaging also features the partnership logo.

The new EQB-501TRC is based on the EDIFICE EQB-501 models. These feature the Connected Engine module that links with a smartphone.

Additionally, Casio has also released a new Smartphone link model, the EQB-501XDB-1A, a racing chronograph.

This model features further advances to the popular EDIFICE EQB-500 Series Smartphone Link watch.

The watch performs auto time adjustment four times a day using the Accurate Time System. This grabs time information from a smartphone, and updates the watch’s internal data on daylight savings time (DST) and time zone.

The user can also set the world time from up to 300 cities. This is achieved just by tapping on the desired city from a dedicated app on a smartphone.

The inset dial at the 4 o’clock position displays the day of week and mode. This can be linked with the dedicated app to measure average speeds in the image of a speedometer.

EDIFICE EFR-556TR

Also in partnership with Scuderia Toro Rosso, Casio has released another model that features a dynamic-looking three-dimensional dial: the EFR-556TR.

This is based on the EDIFICE EFR-556. The dial of the new EFR-556TR features blue, red, and gold highlights and is emblazoned with the Scuderia Toro Rosso logo.
