Huawei Watch 2 Porsche Design – lovely but lacking

The Huawei Watch 2 has had a mixed reception, but this Porsche Design version looks good. Real good.

I am confused.  The original Huawei Watch worked well and looked good. For me, it was a great wearable.

In fact, I’d go as far to say it was impressive in its simplicity.

I’ve not had hands on with the latest version but there are reports that, well, it’s trying too hard. That’s not normally a bad thing, if you can pull it off. Apparently, the Huawei Watch 2 can’t.

All that is of no consequence, however, when you look at just how gorgeous the Porsche vesion is.

Huawei announced the Porsche Design collaboration back in February, but there was no info on the price or release date.

The watch, which has the same internals as the standard Huawei Watch 2, features a stainless steel case, a hybrid strap with red stitching, and custom faces created by Porsche Design.

You also get a ceramic speedometer inspired by a Porsche dashboard, and the company’s logo on the chronograph bezel.

Whether or not a famous footy player wearing it sways you or not is more down to your reaction at the price.

This Porsche Design edition of the Huawei wearable comes in at €795.

Yeah, I know.
