Honor 9 Lite launched – UK price and details
Honor could never be judged as being lazy. After releasing the 7X and View 10 in December, Honor is back again with another affordable phone, the Honor 9 Lite.
Well, it has been a couple of months so it’s obviously time for Honor to launch a new handset.
The Honor 9 Lite is packing four cameras. It had to happen didn’t it?
This new smartphone has a pair of snappers around the rear, as is de rigueur these days, and now matches that up front too.
Honor 9 Lite details
So, the cameras are the main thing here. The Honor 9 Lite boasts a 13-megapixel camera coupled to a 2-megapixel sensor for depth perception on both sides. This allows for various aperture effects. Furthermore, your selfies can be as artistic as your landscape shots.
Additionally, in line with Honor’s latest handsets, you also get their ‘FullView’ 18:9 ratio display. At this price point, this is pretty nifty.
The screen is a 5.65-inch screen number with 1080×2160 resolution packing in 248 pixels per inch. Yes, that’s better than the Honor 9.
However, the Lite does share the fancy glass back design sporting the shiny multi-layered process that makes the Honor 9 so lovely to look at.
Power
The Lite is cheaper than the full fat Honor 9 but still boasts a strong performance from its Kirin 659 chipset, 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage.
Like its stablemates, the hybrid SIM tray offers a choice of two SIMs or a single SIM and memory card.
The Honor 9 Lite comes with EMUI 8 (built on Android Oreo). Expect speedy unlocking from Honor’s rear-mounted fingerprint sensor.
Keeping things lit, the 9 Lite is packing a good-sized 3,000mAh battery. You shouldn’t be expecting Quick Charge at this price, and you’d be right. Charging is by way of a micro USB connector instead of USB-C.
There are a few other price-saving compromises made. Here you will only get single-band (2.4GHz) Wi-Fi, and no support for Android Pay either. There is NFC, though.
It’s not all thrift, mind. You do get a protective case and headphones bundled in with the handset.
The Honor 9 Lite will no doubt look stunning in the metal and glass. No one needs to know how little you paid for it though.
Price and availability
The Honor 9 Lite will be available to buy direct from Honor from Friday February 9th, at a retail price of £199.99.
You can also pick from three colours; Sapphire Blue, Glacier Grey and Midnight Black.
You can also buy from Carphone Warehouse.
