Casio Pro Trek WSD-F20 smartwatch jogs in to CES 2017
The Casio WSD-F20 has been unleashed at CES 2017. This smartwatch is aimed squarely at lovers of the great outdoors.
The WSD-F20’s rugged looks certainly lends itself to the rough and tumble of outdoors pursuits.
The large protective bezel and chunky design is paired with built-in GPS. GPS was the most requested feature by users of its predecessor, the WSD-F10.
Maps, Android Wear 2.0 and more
I do like the addition of a full-colour map which can be downloaded for offline use too. This puts the Trek in to Pro Trek I guess.
It runs Android Wear 2.0 – the latest software from Google for wearables – making it one of the first smartwatches to do so.

The Casio Pro Trek Smart WSD-F20 features apps focused on activities such as fishing, paddling, hiking and cycling. It also packs ‘Location Memory’ which gives you a readout of your location at the click of a button.
There’s a microphone too. This enables you to make voice notes on the watch and compose messages to other users via the Memory Link app.
Casio Pro Trek WSD-F20 price and availability
We’re waiting to hear details about the Casio WSD-F20 release date, but we know how much it will cost. $500 (around £400, AU$680). I suppose that’s the Pro bit of the name taken care of too.
