Bang and Olufsen announce new BeoPlay H3 and H6 headphones
Top flight Hi-Fi builders, Bang & Olufsen, have this week launched two new sets of headphones to their range, in the form of the B&O Play H6 and H3.
The Danish audiophiles have announced the BeoPlay H3 in-earphones and the rather lovely-looking BeoPlay H6 headphones.
Bang & Olufsen Play has partnered with fellow Dane, industrial designer Jakob Wagner, to design their new range of BeoPlay H3 and H6 ear pleasers. According to B&O these have been constructed to be durable and long-lasting.
The H3 earphones use 10.8mm drivers in milled aluminium housings, and will be available in silver, red and black. The housings are drilled with 23 ventilation holes, tuning the headphones to give an open soundstage.
The earphones weigh just 12.8g, and come complete with a 1.35m cable with a three-button inline remote and microphone for use with iOS devices.
The H6 headphones are built from aluminium and leather and will be available in either natural finish or black, with lambskin ear-cushions using memory foam to shape themselves to the user’s ears.
Weighing just 230g and equipped with 40mm drivers, the H6 headphones come with both three-button and single-button cables, plus spare ear-cushions, and have inputs for the cable on both left and right earpieces, plus the ability to daisy-chain an extra pair of headphones using the ‘spare’ socket.
The H3 in-ear model is set to sell for £199/€249, and the £329/€399 H6 on-ear both combining B&O’s traditional anodised aluminium with leather and lambskin and are due to arrive in stores May 2013.
