Samsung Galaxy Player £150 From Amazon UK

A week ago news broke about Samsung‘s shot at kicking the iPod Touch off the throne – the good news is that the Android alternative is available from Amazon UK!

The Samsung Galaxy Player has landed at Amazon UK with an estimated launch date of January 7 – pre-order your 8GB Samsung Galaxy Player for £150 or slam 180 notes down for the 16GB Samsung Galaxy Player.

The Samsung-branded music player will get a full unveiling at CES but it’s said to run Android 2.2 Froyo and feature a 1 GHz CPU like the Galaxy S smartphones. While the Samsung Galaxy Player lacks the iPod’s Retina Display it will come rocking a 3.2-inch Super Clear LCD touchscreen running at WVGA resolution (800 x 480 pixel), T-DMB and SoundAlive audio enhancing technology.

The Galaxy Player also offers two cameras — a front-facing VGA camera and a rear-facing 3.2 megapixel snapper. There’s support for HD video playback and, unlike the Apple players, Ogg Vorbis, Flac, XviD and DivX.

The Sammy PMP also has DNLA smarts as well as being able to hook up via WiFi and Bluetooth 3.0.
