Google Nexus 7 Tablet Released – UK Price and Details [video]
The Google Nexus 7, Google’s first tablet, is on sale right now!
The Google Nexus 7 has been unleashed and costs less than I guessed – good news!
That’s right Gadgety faithful – as expected, the Google Nexus 7 has been unveiled and costs a tiny £160!
There’s two models to choose from, an 8GB or 16GB version. Pricewise the 8GB Nexus costs just £160, and the 16GB model costs £200.
If you have been chomping at the bit to get your mits on the new Google slate then you can order either tablet now from Google Play – the same place where Android lovers go for apps, games, movies and such. Once you place your order, the Nexus 7 will be delivered in mid-July.
You also get £15 of credit to spend in the Play store, as well as a copy of Transformers: Dark of the Moon. Look, it’s free!
Other bits and pieces which are now official facts is that the Nexus 7 has a 7-inch 1280 x 800 high definition display and it’s powered by a Tegra 3 quad-core processor.
You do get a front-facing camera for video calls, but, as predicted, no main camera round the rear.
Google is promising up to 9 hours of video watching on the Nexus 7, and it’ll even give you a whopping 300 hours between charges. I’m taking that huge number is if you leave it just sat there.
The Nexus 7 is the first to feature Jelly Bean, packed with new features including the clever Google Now personal assistant.
The 7-inch tablet is a rival to the Amazon Kindle Fire and Samsung Galaxy Tab 2.
Now, let’s see if Amazon will squirt the Kindle Fire HD and skip the original Fire in order to compete.
