You sexy mother…board! Gigabyte has unveiled their new motherboard – the Gigabyte Z270-Designare.
This motherboard’s special sauce is, as the name suggests, that it allows you to customise your hardware. It does this through a variety of clever lighting schemes.
It’s not all show and no go, either!
Power and looks
The new Z270-powered Designare motherboard has been fully validated and optimised for NVIDIA’s high-end Quadro workstation and high-end graphics cards.
Let there be lights!
The Designare is packing 16.8M RGB Colours. There are two programmable sections, seven lighting effects, accent LED with interchangeable overlay and an advanced mode for extreme customisability.
If you need to add more lights, the board even has a dedicated RGBW light strip pin header.
Connections
You also get SATA 6 Gb/s (from which four convert to two 16 Gb/s SATA-Express ports), one 32 Gb/s U.2 port, and one 32 Gb/s M.2 slot.
It’s also cool to see not only USB 3.1 being catered for, but USB Type-C.
Audio
An important aspect for me is the audio quality. Nothing to worry about here. The ALC1220 is a high-performance multi-channel High Definition Audio Codec. It can dish out up to 120dB SNR for crystal clear audio and features such as Smart Headphone Amp.
There is also 114dB SNR recording for precise voice chats and hardware decoding of DSD128, ensuring you get the best possible audio quality from their PC.
The Smart Headphone Amp automatically detects the impedance of your cans or buds. That means no matter if you’re rocking earbuds or high-end headphones you’ll get optimal audio dynamics—preventing issues such as low volume and distortion.
