OnePlus has teamed up with world-renowned designer Jean-Charles de Castelbajac to create a limited run of exclusive OnePlus 5 smartphones.

The OnePlus 5 is a rather nifty phone already, but what if you want something a little more exclusive?

Well, this special limited edition run could well be right up your catwalk.

OnePlus 5 JCC+

The designer threads of the JCC+ edition do not affect the powerhouse found inside the Midnight Black version.

You will still enjoy the 8GB RAM and 128GB storage paired with a Snapdragon 835 processor. This imbues the device with rather slick performance.

However, it’s the special touches from the hand of Jean-Charles de Castelbajac that makes these handsets special.

On the rear of the OnePlus 5 JCC+ there’s a handwritten message printed directly onto the metal that reads:

This is not a mobile phone, it is a creative machine for artists, fashion expert, idea catcher. This tool is kool you can use it also as a telephone. One+ JC de Castelbajac.”

Additionally, you get splashes of flare via colours added to all the buttons.

The power button gets coated in a gorgeous bright blue, while the volume rocker and alert slider are bright red and bright yellow, respectively.

Wallpaper

Furthermore, as well as distinctive daubing on the hardware, the software also gets the designer’s touch.

You get hand-designed wallpapers, drawn by JC de Castelbajac himself. Expect bold, colourful, bright and beautiful.

If the hardware design is too extrovert for you, but you love the wallpapers, you can download them direct from OnePlus and load them onto whatever phone you have currently. I think I might just do that.

Whether you like the design or not, that’s the beauty of art, you cannot disagree that the OnePlus 5 JCC+ certainly breaks up the usual single-coloured slabs available right now.
